About the ASSC Student Committee

The Association for the Scientific Study of Consciousness (ASSC) Student Committee's aim is to foster greater involvement of graduate students within the ASSC and improve ways in which the ASSC serves the needs of its student members. Its primary goal is to promote research and debate about consciousness among new researchers.

At the Annual Conferences

  • Student Social, typically held on the second night of the conference.
  • Mentor Program matching students with senior researchers. 
  • Student Poster Competition.
  • Alternative Poor Man's Conference Dinner.
  • Affordable accommodation and roomshare services.

Between Conferences

  • We alert students to various meetings related to consciousness, study and employment opportunities in our Monthly Newsletter. 
  • You can keep up to date and share your suggestions on the Students of the ASSC Facebook page.
  • **NEW** We are in the process of developing an Online Forum where students report and discuss events in their department, as well as at ASSC annual meetings. Watch for more information about how to be involved!


Become a Member!

General Student Membership in the ASSC is available at the very nominal rate of $30 USD/year or $50 USD/two years. Student membership comes with all of the benefits of being a full member save voting privileges. Full details can be found on the membership benefits page.
