Stephanie Ortigue, University of California Santa Barbara, United States

Stephanie obtained a Ph.D. in psychology and cognitive neuroscience at the University Hospital of Geneva (Switzerland) and the University of Savoy (France). Then, she did her post-doctoral training at Dartmouth College. She is currently head of the 4D Brain Electrodynamics Laboratory at UC Santa Barbara, California. Her research focuses on cognitive neuroscience and the consciousness of the interactive self in healthy participants and neurological patients.

Gabriel Kreiman, Harvard Medical School, United States

Gabriel studied Physical Chemistry at the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina. He then obtained a Ph.D. under the mentoring of Prof. Christof Koch at Caltech. He did his post-doctoral training with Prof. Tomaso Poggio at MIT. He is now an Assistant Professor in Ophthalmology and Neuroscience at Children's Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School and the Center for Brain Science, Harvard University.

Robert VanGulick, Syracuse University, United States

Robert is Professor of Philosophy at Syracuse University where he also currently serves as Chair of the Philosophy Department and Director of the Cognitive Science Program. His research is in the philosophy of mind, and many of his publications have concerned various issues about consciousness including qualia, the knowledge argument, higher-order and reflexive theories, most recently in his so called HOGS (Higher Order Global State) model of consciousness. He has also published on general issues in the metaphysics of mind including functionalism, intentional content, reduction, emergence, externalism, and mental causation. His more general reference publications include the entry on Consciousness in the online Stanford Encyclopaedia of Philosophy. In 2002-03, he served as President of the Society for Philosophy and Psychology, and he has been twice awarded NEH Faculty Fellowships. He writes poetry on the side.
